If a Destination Goal is created for a newsletter sign-up and a user completes the newsletter sign-up three times in three separate sessions, how many Goal conversions will Google Analytics count?
In Google Analytics, you can use Goals to measure how often users are completing specific actions. You can also use these Goals to measure your site performance and how well your site or mobile apps are fulfilling your target objectives.
A Goal means a completed activity by a user in your site or app which is also referred to as conversion which contributes more success to your business. Example of Goals include the following:
- Making a purchase or payment (for an e-commerce site)
- Completing a game level or an objective (for a mobile gaming app)
- Submitting a contact information form or signing up (for a marketing or lead generation site).
Defining Goals will be a fundamental component of any Digital analytics measurement plan. If you are having properly configured goals it will allow Analytics to provide critical information such as the Number of Conversions or even the conversion rate on your site or app or both.
It is impossible for you to evaluate the effectiveness of your online business or any marketing campaigns without the information provided by Goals.
